Google to Close Its Office in China

After a series of attack by hackers believed to be from China and was further believed to have been paid by the Chinese government, Google threatened to stop censoring web results from search inquiries made from China.

The Chinese government however said that this move is not welcomed and if Google is not respecting by the Chinese laws, they will not be welcomed in the communist country. There have been talks between the people in Google and the Chinese government but there have been rumors that the company will soon remove its China base.

China now has one of the largest Internet users in the whole world with more than 300 million users which is a lot more than the United States users as well. However, a lot of these web users stick with the local search engine Baidu instead of Google and the American company has find it quite hard to compete with the local search engine as well.

By bailing out from China, Google is removing all potential chances of tapping into the country’s Internet users which is expected to be more than half a billion users in years to come.

Google SideWiki Allowing People to Comment on Sites

There is a new way of getting comments for a website may it be good or bad and it is through Google SideWiki. All that is needed for it to work is people that are using one of the two browsers that would support it and a Google Toolbar as well.

The Google Toolbar is important for it to work because SideWiki is embedded with the toolbar. So far, Google Toolbar works with only Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer. It currently have no support for Google Chrome although this can come as quite a shock as being a Google made product, Chrome should have the priority of being equipped with Google Toolbar.

Google SideWiki has only been launched a week so there is no telling on whether it is going to be famous or not. However, there were a few products that worked quite the same as Google SideWiki but then they did not get enough popularity. However, with Google engineering the Google SideWiki, there is a higher chance that the product will gain popularity amongst the people.

Webmasters should try and please their audiences as best as they can so that they will get good feedbacks from Google SideWiki. In addition to that, if there aren’t any comments, they can also put their RSS feeds inside it.

Google Content Network New Tool for Brand Advertisers

Brand advertisers are one of the two types of advertisers available at the Google Content Network. These advertisers focus on getting their products noticed and most probably focus more on cost per thousand impressions instead of cost per click. This is because the main point of their advertising campaign is not to get a lot of traffic to their website but to get public acknowledgement of their product or service.

With Google Content Network covering more than 80% of the whole Internet user, it has to deliver one of the best solutions on the Internet so that it retains its position of the number one online advertising company on the planet.

Last year, Google Content Network has made some improvement on its Google Campaign program. It gives a better measurement for display advertising. This improvement was focused solely to brand advertisers.

Google Now Indexes Facebook Fan Page Updates

A new buzz around the SEO world is about no other thing that Google. The number one search engine now is said to be indexing Facebook fan page updates. This is another step made by Google to ensure that it will be one of the best real time search engine on the planet.
